Hi there! Emily Midgett here with you today for some inspiration using some of the new goodies from the 4th Birthday Release. I love coloring with colored pencils on colored card stock… the effect is so vibrant and unique! Plus, using colored card stock for my die cuts allows me to avoid the white edge around the die cuts that bugs me so much (haha). Let’s get started with all of the details!

I began by heat embossing a few butterflies from Fluttering By and some blooms, foliage, and berries from Spring Peony onto some aqua card stock. I then used my Luminance pencils to add color to the images. I die cut the images using the Fluttering By dies and the Spring Peony dies.

I then used my blending brushes to blend some bright blue ink on an aqua A2 panel and splattered some water on it to add some texture. I arranged the flowers on the blended panel, then adhered them with foam adhesive. I also heat embossed a sentiment from Fluttering By and cut it out with some detail scissors.

I added the sentiment with foam tape, then added the butterflies using liquid and foam adhesive. The final touch was some pretty iridescent gems!

Well, that’s all for me today. If you haven’t tried colored pencils on colored card stock yet, I highly encourage you to try it out! It’s so fun. I hope you have a great day! Thanks so much for stopping by.
