Happy brand new week crafty friends! It’s Keiko from Happy Tree Studio today. I’m sharing this cute log cabin card with you! It is a little labor intensive (lot of die cutting), but fun to make!

I used cute Bill from Bill the Bear stamp set and kitties and butterflies from new Oh My Wiskers stamp set. I stamped them with Antique Linen Distress Ink on watercolor paper and watercolored them with Distress Inks. After adding some details with my colored pencils, I die cut them out with the coordinating dies.

Now to build a log cabin. For the wall, I cut down the scraps of woodgrain card stocks into strips and blended some brown inks to make them look realistic (I used Vintage Photo and Ground Espresso Distress Ink). I then die cut a window and a flower box out of the same woodgrain card stock using new Cottage Window Die and colored them with the same inks. I also die cut awnings (three times and layered them) from yellow and white card stocks, and curtains from new The Bee’s Knees Pattern Paper. I think this bee pattern is so adorable! For the background (the wallpaper), I used also brand new Great Outdoors pattern paper. Simply cut it down to the size of the window. I also cut a piece of acetate to this size.

The grass border was cut from another pattern paper pack, Over the Rainbow (my favorite!) then the sentiment ‘I’m thinking of you’ from new Fluttering By stamp set was heat embossed in the middle. Then I die cut bunch of flowers and greeneries from colored card stocks using Bunch of Bouquets die set, Threshold Card die set, and new Flower Pot Card die set. They looked a little plain for my taste, so I decided to add some details with my Copic markers.

Now finally we are ready to assemble the card (best part of the card making for me!). I made a A7 size (5 x 7 inches) card base out of heavy weight white card stock and glued all the wood pieces and the window. Here is the layers for the window part (from the bottom):
Wallpaper
Bill the bear
Curtains
Kitty
Acetate
Window
Awning

I foam mounted the flower box, the grass border and butterflies. I then arranged the flowers and leaves the way I like and glued them on (some with foam adhesives). I also added the second kitty in the flower box. As a final touch, I added some glitter and Glossy Accents to the flowers and butterflies.

Well, thank you so much for stopping by today.
Wishing you all the amazing week!

KEIKO
