Hello everyone! I’m happy to be back on the blog today! I’m sharing two versions of a quick and easy Halloween card design that features some fun die cut shapes created with The Name’s Jack Honey Cuts.

Both cards are A2 size and I started by creating the ink blended backgrounds with lots of white and black splatter. I always gotta have lots of splatter on my Halloween cards to give them that fun speckled effect.

For the purple card, I used a combo of Shaded Lilac, Dusty Concord, and Black Soot Distress Oxide Inks. I applied the ink with a blending brush working from outside edges in, going lighter towards the center of the card front.

I repeated the same process for the green background but used Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers, and Black Soot Oxides Inks. I die cut the ghosts and pumpkins using dies from The Name’s Jack Honey Cuts set. I wanted the ghosts to be holding the letters to spell “boo” so I trimmed off their original hands and added separate hands. The tiny die that cut out the hands is included in the set. The letters are from the Bee Bold Alphabet Honey Cuts.

I added a little ink shading to my die cut ghosts and pumpkins before adhering them to the cards. I think this gives them a little more definition and interest. I also added some rosy cheeks to the ghosts with a detail ink blending tool. All the die cut shapes, letters and sentiment strips were adhered with thin dimensional foam squares. The stamped and white heat embossed “Happy Halloween” is from the FabBOOlous Sentiments stamp set.

I have one tip to make the assembly process faster and easier for the faces on these cute ghosts and pumpkins… die cut the eyes and mouths directly into the main shapes. Then adhere black card stock on the back to fill in the openings. I just takes one small piece of black card stock behind each shape instead of fussing with gluing tiny eyes and mouths to the front.

Thanks so much for joining me today. I’ll be back in on the 26th to share more inspiration using some of the new products from the Autumn Blessings release. Until then, happy crafting! 🙂
