Happy new week crafty friends!
It’s Keiko from Happy Tree Studio today. If you look at my Instagram feed, you can see 99% of my cards feature some sort of critters. So this card is a rare exception! These floral images are so gorgeous and nicely sized, I didn’t feel like adding anything else.

I stamped the images from Spring Peony set with clear embossing ink on watercolor paper and heat embossed them with gold embossing powder. I loosely colored them with my watercolor markers and cut them out using the coordinating Spring Peony Honey Cuts.

For the background panel, I used A7 size (5 x 7 inches) Distress woodgrain card stock. In the middle of the panel, I placed two of the Double Stitched Polygons Die (2nd and 3rd largest ones) and ran them through my die cutting machine. This will create the center panel (for the sentiment) and two frames. To add color to these three pieces, I blended Distress Inks with my blending tool (Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain). TIP: For the center panel, use the reverse side (with no woodgrain texture) so the sentiment will stamp nicely. After the ink blending, I splatter some white paint for added texture. The sentiment is from Thanks a Bunch stamp set. I white heat embossed on the (back side of) the center panel.

To assemble the card, I adhered the outer frame (the largest piece) to the A7 card base I created from white card stock. Then I applied the double layer of foam tapes to the thin inner frame, and triple layers to the sentiment panel and adhered them to the card base. TIP: Do not apply the foam tape to the edge so we can tuck the flower die cuts in later. All you have to do now is arrange the florals and glue them on. I tucked some of them in between the outer frame and the inner frame (mainly larger images), and some in between the inner frame and the sentiment panel.

For the finishing touches, I added Glossy Accents to the berries, and some clear gems to the background. Also I tied some hemp twines to finish up the card. To make a matching envelop, I stamped the same floral images to the flap, and white heat embossed the sentiment from One of the Kind stamp set.

Thank you so so much for spending some time with me!
Have a wonderful week!

KEIKO

That looks amazing. I like the wood background, and how the embossing stands out. It is a classic look.

Great idea using gold embossing on the flowers. Gives it a vintage feel.
