Good morning! Emily Midgett here with you today to share a fall friendship shaker card. I’ve been waiting (……and waiting… and waiting) for fall to arrive, and it seems like it finally has decided to stick around! With the cooler temperatures comes those gorgeously colored leaves, and I’m enjoying the view of the red and yellow leaves out my craft room window. Those leaves inspired my project today.
I started by stamping the main image from Acorn Sisters onto some watercolor paper using Smokey Gray Versafine ink, then heat embossing the image in clear. I then colored my pretty trio of ladies in shades of autumn using Zig markers and a damp paintbrush and die cut it after it was dry. For the background, I tapped Candied Apple, Abandoned Coral, and Wild Honey Distress Oxide inks onto an easy clean mat, then spritzed them with water and laid down an A2 panel of watercolor card stock over the top, “smooshing” it into the inks. I let the panel dry for a few minutes, then repeated the process until I had an ethereal, abstract-but-still-vaguely-autumnal background. (ha!)
To create the shaker portion of the card, I die cut a frame using the Stitched Rectangle dies from some dark orange card stock. I added clear card stock and some foam tape to create the shaker and filled it with the Indian Summer sequins mix. To add the greeting (which I thought went perfectly with these three ladies), I die cut the Thanks and Giving dies from gold glitz card stock, then added the sentiment from the coordinating Thanks and Giving stamp set.
Well, that’s all for me today! Have a marvelous weekend!!
