Happy Tuesday, Honey Bee friends!! I hope your week is off to a great start!! Brenda here today with a card that was inspired by the beautiful weather we’ve been having in MO!! The dogwood and magnolia trees are in bloom!! I LOVE this time of year when everything is turning green and the temperatures start to rise!!
I started off by die-cutting the Lovely Layers: Dogwood Honey Cuts from white cardstock. I die-cut each layer two times and added color with Distress Oxide Inks and shader brushes. I used Kitsch Flamingo, Picked Raspberry and Mustard Seed for the flowers; Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness for the leaves; and Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain for the branches. I adhered each of the layers together with Bee Creative Glue.
The Dogwood Blooms 3D Embossing Folder was embossed onto a panel of white cardstock. I trimmed it slightly and adhered it to a panel of light gray cardstock that was die-cut with the largest die in the Sweet Stacks: Rectangles Die Set. The window from the Blooming View DIe Set was also cut from the same gray cardstock. It was adhered to the background with Bee Creative Glue and the die-cut dogwood branches were also added with the same adhesive, trimming the excess branches from each side.
The sentiment, from the Lean on Each Other Stamp Set, was stamped onto white cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and cut out with the Coordinating Die. I also die-cut three more layers from heavyweight white cardstock, adhered them behind the stamped one, then added them to the front of the card. I added Star Dust Stickles to the centers of the flowers. Pale pink pearls from the Vintage Pearl Stickers finish off the card.
That’ll do it for me today!! Have a wonderful week and I’ll see you back here next Tuesday!!
