Happy Sunday, everyone! I created a pretty pocket scrapbooking card for a swap using the Swirly Ampersand SVG cutfile from the shop. I wanted a pretty element for my cards and needed something cut from my Silhouette Cameo.

IMG_9435I opened the SVG in Silhouette Studio. You can see the original image on the right, off of my ‘mat’ area. I didn’t want to have to fuss with the three separate tiny pieces, so what I did was Offset the image just a little bit to give it a tiny bit more weight and allow those floating pieces to weld together with the main part of the ampersand. I added the offset cut image onto the mat area and replicated it until I had enough to create my cards. I was able to get seven on half the mat by rotating and nestling them, which gave me room to do another offset a tiny bit larger to give me a matted image. I put two different 6″x12″ pieces of Dear Lizzy patterned paper onto my cut mat, to save time.

After all my pretty ampersands and mats were cut out, I chose some more papers from the same Dear Lizzy collection to create my cards. I decided to really layer them up, so I cut a pink floral into 3″x4″ cards, then a navy floral into 2½”x3½” pieces to give a ¼” mat on the outside. But I wanted to stamp, so I then added a really neutral distressed pattern on top of that, cut just an eighth of an inch smaller.

IMG_9349I stamped my sentiment with Hero Arts Ombre ink in the Pink To Red color, using my MISTI stamping tool; this helped me to get perfect stamped images and to align them just right on each card. I wanted a more complex sentiment, so I used ‘everyday moments’ from Not Too Shabby stamp set, and ‘these are the moments’ (I carefully cut the word moments off this sentiment stamp and used just ‘these are the’), ‘that I live for’, and ‘For Real’ sentiments from the Life Right Now stamp set. I stacked them up to fit in and help fill up the space above the Swirly Ampersand.

IMG_9350I love how this card turned out, I think it is elegant and still has plenty going on.

Thanks for visiting with me today, and I hope you enjoyed this pretty card using the Swirly Ampersand SVG. Happy crafting!

Beautiful. I love your soft color choices. I am super jealous of your Misti stamp tool.
