August brings us all things yellow…. lemons, sunshine and sunflowers! I fell in love with this new stamp set, Bloom With Grace as soon as I saw it. The flower blossoms are big and bold, just like the real ones. I used one stamp set to create the featured design as well as the background design on this card. I’m using the following products from Honey Bee Stamps newest release called Falloween: Bloom With Grace stamp set and coordinating Honey Cut dies.
The featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue and for when I want more dimension, Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab for adhering my elements together. For white highlights, I used my white Gelly Roll pen. My card is 5″ X 7″ in size.
To make this A7 card, I stamped the blossoms in the set in black on a white 5″ X 7″ card front panel. I splattered watercolor paint over the stamped flowers using Kuretake Gansai Tambi paints in mustard, brown and metallic bronze.
I cut a 4″ X 6″ vellum piece and attached it to the background with double-sided tape, positioning it in the middle of the card panel. The vellum layer helps to soften the lines of the design to keep the attention on the featured, colorful flowers in the foreground.
I stamped, die cut and colored two sunflowers in yellows, browns and greens. I used the following Copic marker colors:
- Yellows: YR24, YR21, Y19, Y08
- Browns: E49, E57, E55, E43
- Greens: YG67, YG63, YG19, YG03
I attached the sunflowers using foam dots, over the vellum piece. I added some white dots to the flowers’ centers using my white Gelly Roll pen. I attached a hemp twine bow to the flowers’ stems.
I stamped a sentiment from the set in black on white cardstock and die cut it with the coordinating die. I also die cut a black piece with the same die to create a shadow under the sentiment. The sentiment and shadow were attached using foam dots cut to fit the verse. Blue/green gem stickers were added to accent the flowers.
