Have you ever found a stamp set that you just can’t stop playing with? The new Snow Buddies set has definitely been one those for me! My project today features all three snowmen images from the set that I’ve stacked on a gate fold card.
I started with an A6 size gate fold card base. A6 size measures 6.25 x 4.5 inches when closed. I needed background panels for each half of the front. I sponged on a combo of Tumbled Glass and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide Ink onto Bristol Smooth card stock. I splattered the inked background panels with thinned white paint to create the look of snow. I’ve colored all the images for the scene with Copic markers and used a white Gelly Roll pen to add highlights and pattern detail. I covered the backs of the snowmen and their accessories since they will be showing when the card is opened. I used the coordinating Snow Buddies Honey Cuts to die cut blanks and adhered them to the back of the colored images.
I adhered the snowmen in a stacked arrangement directly to the left half of the card front. Then I added the left inked background panel on top of the snowmen. This makes it look like the snowmen are peeking out around the edge of the panel. I added a sentiment from the Fa La La stamp set that I heat embossed in white onto some dark gray card stock. For a little dimensional snow, I added dots of Gloss White Nuvo Crystal Drops.
To finish off the card I added a large sentiment and a few small images to the inside. I used CP Black Jack ink to stamp the Happy Holidays. This sentiment along with the holly and berries are from the Merry Christmas stamp set.
I’m always looking for different ways to use my stamps and this was such a fun way to use these cute snowmen images. I just love how they look peeking out. I hope you’ll give this idea a try! Thanks for joining me today. Until next time, happy crafting!
