Hello, Honey Bee fans! This is Yana Smakula and I am so excited to be a guest here today!
Lately I’ve been enjoying making smaller size cards so for this post I created a 4 Bar card (this kind of card base measures 3 ½” x 4 ⅞”).
I started working on this project by heat embossing several floral images from the Hello Gorgeous stamp set in gold embossing powder onto white cardstock. I used my Copic markers and did some quick coloring (I used RV14, RV13 and RV11 to color pinks, YG17 and YG03 to color green and Y19, Y15 and Y11 to color yellow).
I die-cut images out in my Platinum 6 die cutting machine using coordinating Honey Cut dies. After arranging the die cut florals into a cluster I realized I needed to add some additional stamping so I stamped a few more images in gray ink directly onto my card base. I love to use gray on white as it adds a nice subtle detail without being overpowering. Using foam adhesive, I foam mounted floral overlapping the background stamping.
For my sentiment I went with a simple Hello. I first stamped “Hello” directly onto the card base using sale gray ink and later adhered a die-cut hello on top. Latter was foam mounted and offset slightly for a pop of dimension.
Lastly, I added little accents using black liquid enamel dots.
Have fun stamping!
