Hello everyone! I am very excited to be sharing a card with you today as a guest designer for Honey Bee Stamps! I chose to use the adorable Not Too Shabby stamp and Not too Shabby Honey Cuts die set in today’s card, as I love the whimsical images in this set.
In the video below, I will be sharing how I created this card from start to finish, including how I used both Copics and Zig Clean Color markers in this card to achieve the look I was going for.
Using multiple mediums on a card is really fun, as it allows me to achieve the exact look I am going for, since every medium creates a different effect. Since I wanted a layered, textured look in the sky, I used the Zig markers, mainly because they react with water so well. For the stamped images, using Copics was my first choice because of the smooth shading and control I have over where the color ends up.
The tag background was created with Zig Clean Color markers. I layered multiple colors together – many times – to create the multi-colored sky. The colors I used for the sky were:
Light Blue 036
Peacock Blue 038
English Lavender 803
Emerald Green 048
Marine Green 400
Light Pink 026
The images such as the banners, the birds and the mason jar, were all colored with Copic markers. The colors used for the images were:
Birds: R14, R27, R59
Jar: BG0000, B41
Jar lid: T2, T4, T5
Hearts: RV13, RV14
Banner: Y11, Y38, B00, BG02, G00, YG41, RV10, RV11
I hope you will check out the video and see how this card came together! A big hug of thanks to Melissa and Lisa for inviting me to guest design for Honey Bee Stamps this month… I had a blast!!!
Thanks for visiting me today!
