Hello everyone and welcome back!! I hope your week is going well so far! I’m back to share a bright and happy card with you today. I was in the mood to do some simple watercolour. And my favourite watercolour medium is Stabilo 68 pens. Really, you say?! Yes. These pens are amazing. The produce such vibrant colour, blend extremely well with water and the best part, they’re really affordable! I ordered mine from Amazon. Now let’s get to it, shall we?
I started by stamping the Lotus flower from the Lotus Blossom mini stamp onto some Canson watercolour paper. I used Versamark Ink and Silver Pearl Embossing powder from Ranger. This powder is beautiful!! It’s a mix of white and silver so it’s not too overpowering. I then chose four bright colors of pens, simply scribbled some color onto each blossom and blended out with water. The result is some truly bright colors with only one layer!!
I thought the background around the flowers was a little too stark so I did add some shading with a light grey marker. For the sentiment, I kept it simple. I die cut the word “smile” from the Honey Cuts Smile Die, three times from black cardstock. I adhered them all together with small dots of Multi Matte Medium. To take it up a notch, I coated it with Stampendous Embossing Liquid and added some clear embossing powder on top to give it a shiny appearance!
I cut my panel down with a stitched rectangle die, and adhered the “smile” with the Matte Medium. I was SO tempted to add some glitter pen to these flowers, but resisted. I thought the super dimensional and shiny sentiment was enough. But I did add a few of my favourite embellishment..Clear Dew Drops!!
Thank you for stopping by today! I hope this put a smile on your face!!
