Happy Wednesday Honey Bee friends! I have two hydrangea plants in full bloom in my backyard and they just totally inspired me to use the gorgeous Lovely Layers: Hydrangea Honey Cuts again. This time I created a slimline card and cut the hydrangea bloom into two pieces!! Read on for the details!

First I created my card base by scoring a piece of 8″ 9″ 80# Neenah at 4″. After I folded it, I added a coordinating layer of purple card stock. Then I die cut 80# Neenah with the Slimline Sentiments: Blanket Honey Cuts and adhered it the purple layer. I added this to my card base. I used the fantastic Bee Creative glue for this.

Next I die cut all of the pieces of the Lovely Layers: Hydrangea from 80# Neenah white card stock. I die cut five leaves. Then I colored all of the pieces with my Copic markers. For the flowers I used: BV17, BV04, BV13, BV02, BV31, G14, YG41, and YG11. I colored the leaves with G28, YG17, YG25, and YG03.

I adhered the layers of the hydrangea together with thin foam squares. OK–I’ll admit to being pretty nervous for this next step–LOL! I took my Tim Holtz scissors and cut all of the layers of the flower down a pencil line I drew!!! Whew, I was happy this worked. I was sure to put bit of foam square on the small pieces to keep all parts of the stack together. These scissors had no problem cutting through the layers and the foam squares!

Next I adhered the leaves and flowers to the card with Bee Creative glue. Then I used sentiments from the Bitty Buzzwords stamp set and stamped them in black ink. I used the coordinating Honey Cut to die cut “birthday” and popped up both pieces with thin foam strips. I love this set, and if you don’t have it, I would say you need it! Haha!

I hope I’ve given you more inspiration for using the Lovely Layers: Hydrangea set! Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful, and crafty, remainder of your week!
