Hi there sweet Honey Bees! Lydia here with you today!

Today I’m sharing a card using a messy watercolour background.

To do this I started off with a piece of watercolour card. I then took the very pretty bouquet of flowers from the ‘Not So Shabby’ set and repeatedly stamped this all over. I used VersaFine Onyx Black ink but I wanted it to be less bold so instead of stamping it directly onto the watercolour card I stamped it off first onto some scrap paper and then used the ink that was left on the stamp to stamp onto my project. This gave the black a more muted look, you could use a waterproof grey ink or this if you have it.

Once I had stamped the whole sheet in this way I added ‘blob’s of watercolour to the flowers and leaves- I wanted a very loose ‘messy’ look so I worked quickly and tried not to over-think covering the whole of the image. I have to say I love how it turned out!

For the sentiment I used a strip of white card with pretty die-cut edges and stamped a sentiment from ‘Cherish’ using black ink. I added some twine to the side before adding to my card.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Hugs Lydia x

Your card is beautiful! What edge die is that for the strip across the card? Thanks, Kathy M.
