Good morning! Emily here with you today sharing a project that’s making me think of warm temperatures and beach vacation…. our weather here has been so blah and waffling from mildly pleasant to downright chilly, so some tropical inspiration was definitely needed!
I started with the totally blissed out mermaid from Ocean Bliss. I stamped her with some Versafine ink onto some watercolor card stock, then heat embossed in clear and die cut her with the coordinating dies. I watercolored her using Zig Clean Color markers and my damp paintbrush. (I showed a sneak peek of the watercolored mermaid earlier this week on Instagram for #thedailymarker30day challenge. I’m @eamidgett if you want to follow me!)
After I had watercolored my mermaid, I used some complementary shades of teal, aqua, and blue alcohol inks to create an ethereal aquatic background. After it had dried, I used the Ocean Scene Builder Stencil and some Sapphire Blue Glimmer Paste to create a pretty under-the-sea background. I die cut the “sending you” from silver foil card stock using Sending You Sentiments dies, then die cut the “sparkle” from some silver glitter paper using the Sparkle die set.
I adhered the mermaid to the bottom of the alcohol inked panel using dimensional foam adhesive, then added the die cut sentiments using foam and liquid adhesive. The final touch was to add some “bubbles” with the Bokeh Lights Confetti mix.
Well, that’s all for me today! I hope you enjoyed this super sparkly card… lots of texture and dimension on this one. And I’m loving the glimmer paste on the alcohol ink background… definitely going to be using that technique more in the future! Have a marvelous weekend, friends!
