Sending Sunshine & Rainbows
Hello all!! Brenda with you today, sending a bit of sunshine and rainbows your way!! I wanted to revisit the Seasonal Sweeties set. Although this set was released in the fall, it can certainly be used year-round.
I am so ready for spring…although if Phil has anything to say about it, we have at least 4 more weeks of winter…blah!! At least it is spring in my craft room today!!
I began by stamping the girl and the adorable pup from Seasonal Sweeties onto white cardstock with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink. I hand-drew flowers onto her coat, polka dots onto the umbrella and stripes onto the pup’s umbrella with a Copic Mulitiliner, since I would be coloring the images with Copic markers. I also used colored pencils to add more shading after the Copic coloring. The images were fussy cut right up to the outline of the images. I also stamped the long floral image from Zen Floral and colored it with Copics and colored pencils, before die-cutting with the Zen Floral Honey Cut Die. Next, I blended Distress Oxide Inks into a rainbow shape onto Bristol cardstock with a mini ink blending tool. I blended Salty Ocean into the rest of the panel to create the sky. The ink blended panel was spritzed with water, picking up some of the excess ink with a paper towel for more interest. Once dry, I stamped the girl and pup once again onto the background panel. This stamped the umbrella handles onto the background, since they would have been difficult to fussy cut. A sun was cut from yellow vellum using the Sunburst A2 Cover Plate Honey Cut. I layered the sun and rays onto my background panel. The sentiment is from the Sending Sunshine set. The “sending” was stamped onto the sun with Staz-On ink, while the “sun shine” was cut from black cardstock. The girl, pup, umbrellas & zen florals were placed onto the panel with foam adhesive. Lastly, a few sequins from the Clear Iridescent Mix finished off the card nicely.
Thanks for spending part of your Thursday with me!! Happy creating!!!
