Good morning! Emily Midgett here with a sunny card for your Friday. I just love the new Sunburst cover plate… makes such quick work of a card. Today, I’ve made a card almost entirely from die cuts, with the Sunburst Cover Plate as the focus. I’ve been super busy this week getting my kiddos ready for their first day of school, so I needed something quick, and this card definitely fit into the quick-but-cute category! Let’s get started on the details.
To start, I die cut the Sunburst Cover Plate from some sunny yellow card stock, then used my blender tool to blend some yellow in in the center, radiating out towards the rays. I mounted it on a piece of A2 teal card stock… not your usual color for a sky, but I took some artistic license. 😉 I just love teal and yellow together!
Next, I die cut some clouds from the Partly Cloudy die collection using both plain white and white shimmer card stock to add some textural contrast. I also die cut the top layer of the Hugs collection from some pretty teal foil. I layered the clouds the way I wanted them on the card front, then before adhering, placed my “sending you” and “& happiness” stamps from the Sending You Sentiments stamp set, which I then used my MISTI to stamp in teal ink.
After adhering my clouds with dimensional adhesive, I scattered some pretty Unicorn Rhinestones around on the front of the card to add some sparkle. After it was all done, I decided to add some shimmer pen to the center of the sun to really make it sparkle.
And that’s it! I think this card took me 30-40 minutes tops… I spent more time pushing the clouds around on the card front than it took me to die cut everything. Simple and cute for the win! Hope you have a marvelous Friday and a lovely weekend!
