Hello sweet Bee friends! It’s Bobbi here with a tri-fold card filled with hearts, sweetness and love! There’s even a little bunny tucked inside, too. With Christmas behind us, it’s time to think about Saint Valentine’s Day. I created this card in non-traditional colors of peaches, corals and a splash of magenta, too! I’m using the following products by Honey Bee Stamps.

Scalloped Hearts Honey Cuts dies set

Barn Wood Plank Background Stamp

Woodland Winter Animals stamp and die sets

Pierced XOXO die set

Little Pickup stamp and die sets

Kisses stamp set

This 5″ X 7″ tri-fold has multiple layered heart-shaped window openings. From the front, you can see all the way in to the interior center panel. The front panel was heat embossed in white using the Barn Wood Plank Background Stamp on a light peach-colored cardstock and added some darker graining using Copic Markers. Using the Scalloped Hearts Honey Cuts dies set, I die cut a scallop heart from the upper center area. I added the letters, XOXO, 1/4″ inch strip connectors, and the bunny behind the peach cutout. The letters were cut from white glitter cardstock and backed with white cardstock. The bunny was stamped, die cut, colored an backed with white cardstock.

I added a clear gem stone to the center heart for a little sparkle on the front. I partially attached the barn wood front to a white panel of the same size (5″ X 7″) with a slightly smaller scalloped heart window aligned and die cut from the front. I left a margin of approximately 1/2″ along the long side interior unglued so that I could attach it to the coral card base in a later step.

You can see the importance of backing the bunny and letters for a finished look inside the card. The backing also offers needed support for the letters, too. I added a coordinating pattern paper to the letters for a touch of color, too.

To create the trifold, I cut the coral card base 10-1/4″ wide X 7″ tall and scored at 1/2″ and 5-1/2″ (for a 5″ center panel) leaving a 4-3/4″ wide flap for the tri-panel. The 1/2″ edge piece was inserted in between the two front panels to connect the left side panel to the card base. I used another smaller scalloped heart on the interior coral panel, lining it up with the two front panel hearts. I added the hearts, the mailbox, and letters to the flap. The phrase “sending you” was heat embossed in white.

When the interior panel is opened, the card reveals a fun striped wallpaper that I created by cutting strips from the leftover coral, pink and magenta cardstock. I blended inks on white cardstock using Ranger Distressed Oxide Inks in a small amount of Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry, Carved Pumpkin and Dried Marigold and die cut a scalloped heart from it. This time, my heart was larger than all the other heart openings to make sure it covered the largest opening from the front.

The heart was attached to the stripe background. A little bunny was placed at the bottom of the heart along with a mound of smaller hearts at the foot of the bunny. I made sure to align the bunny directly behind the front panel bunny so that when the card is closed, you can only see one bunny. I heat embossed “all my love” around the bunny to complete the sentiment and added white stitching to the heart to finish the interior. This card is now ready for some “bunny” I love! 🙂

Lovely card. So neat to see the bunny inside your trifold. Well done with clear directions. Tfs

    • Thanks so much, Sarah! That little bunny is just too cute. It’s nice to take a winter set and extend it into the heart season of February. Have a great day.
