Hello everyone!! AmyR here from Prairie Paper & Ink with a fun rainbow-themed mermaid card to share with y’all!

I pulled out Honey Bee’s Swimming By stamp set and did a little bit of “stamp surgery” to it (no worries or concern – I show in the video what I did but this step could be skipped and one could either do some careful inking or a bit of masking so as not to cut into a stamp!) so that I could stamp just the tail of the mermaid image.

I white heat embossed the tail multiple times across a panel of Distress Water-colour cardstock. I then used several Distress Oxide inks to do some watercoloring – all in rainbow order of course!

Once the tails were dry I used the remaining inks and splattered them across my background. I then stamped sentiments from the Honey Bee Mermaid Song stamp set onto my panel with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

I finished off the inside of the card with another sentiment from the Mermaid Song stamp set, then stamped the tails with the same Oxide inks I’d used to watercolor the front of the card.

To see how this card came together check out my video below:

Thanks so much for stopping by! I have all the supplies I used linked here at the end of the post!

Love your card! The rainbow colored tails are so pretty. I like how they’re all coming up from the bottom of the card. The messy watercoloring on these looks great!
