Before I share more details, I want to let you know about the weekend birthday sale. Today, New Years Eve, 12/31/2023, is the last day to save 30% off your entire purchase at Honey Bee Stamps! Literally, everything is on SALE! Everything you see on my cards today and everything in the store is on sale! This is an exceptional deal, one I have never seen before. Remember, today is the last day to save! Oh, by the way, we are celebrating Melissa (the owner) on her birthday today!
The featured projects below are made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue for adhering my elements together. My first card is 5″ X 7″ in size.
Puppy Love Card
To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I started by stamping the “LOVE” word on pink cardstock using a fuchsia ink color. The MISTI tool is great for this background application. I splattered the front panel in black and dark pink watercolor paint and white Dr. PH Marten’s White Ink. Once the paint was dry, I stamped the paw prints using Bee Creative Intense Black Ink.
I stamped the floral heart window and pup and cut them using their coordinating dies. I colored both using Copic Sketch markers in shades of pinks and greens for the florals and browns for the puppy using these colors:
- Pinks: RV09, RV55, RV02
- Greens: YG67, YG03, YG00
- Browns: E57, E55, E53, E51, E50
- Yellows; Y19
I cut the inside heart out using the coordinating die and splattered black on the heart. The splattered white heart was attached to the front panel using glue. The heart window was attached over the heart using 1/16th thick foam tabs. I inserted the puppy into the heart window and attached with another foam tab. A banner with a shadow, stamped with the “I love you more” sentiment was also attached using foam tabs to make it stand out. I tucked a bone and two hearts inside by the puppy, too.
Heart-Shaped Valentine
For this valentine, I created the heart-shaped card, by folding a piece of white cardstock in half and placing the largest heart die slightly over the folded edge of the cardstock at the top for a top fold card. I cut out another pink, large heart and embossed it using the Daisy Chain embossing folder. I blended on some darker pink ink around the edges and added faux stitches using a fine-tip pink marker. I attached this panel to the front of my heart base. Some of the pink extends over the top fold which is minimal.
I stamped, colored, and cut out the floral envelope. I stamped and colored three additional tulips and attached them to the floral image using foam tabs to make them stand out. Next, I cut out the “kisses” word and attached the white script to a bright pink shadow layer. I attached the “kisses” word and added the “sending big hugs” sentiment from the Mini Messages stamp set (cut using the coordinating die). Finally, I added sparkly gem stickers on the heart to finish this card.
