Peace On Earth.
Good morning! Happy day-after-Thanksgiving and Black Friday! Emily Midgett here with you today. If you haven’t shopped the Honey Bee sale, Melissa is offering 20% off the entire store through Sunday, 11/25. So, be sure to go get your shop on! For my project today, I used the absolutely darling Silent Night stamps and dies, as well as some other new products. Let’s get started with all of the details!
I began by doing some Distress Oxide ink blending on a panel of white card stock. I first taped the edges of the white panel to a piece of scrap computer paper, masking the edges with masking tape, then blending Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch, and Salty Ocean to create a pretty sky. Next, I used one of the stencils from the Winter Wonder stencil set to add some sparkly “snowflakes” with Moonstone Glimmer Paste.
While my background was drying, I set to work on the different elements for my little scene. I stamped and die cut the deer, bunny, hedgehog, tree, and gifts from Silent Night onto some watercolor paper, then used the Pinkfresh liquid watercolors to watercolor all of the different elements.
Once all of my watercoloring and background had dried, it was time to put together the card! I layered up the little critters and gifts with lots of foam tape on the blended background and added some white “ornaments” using white Nuvo drops to the Christmas tree. The final step was to add a stamped “peace on earth” greeting from the new Rejoice stamp set. I thought the simple sentiment strip with it’s apropos meaning went splendidly with this card.
Well, that’s all for me today! I hope you’re ready for lots of holiday inspiration, because the Christmas spirit is in full swing now! Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you had a marvelous holiday with your family and friends!
