Hi everyone! Leanne here today. I’ve been playing around with all the new 6×6 pattern paper recently and wanted to show a fun way to use it by cutting out specific elements to create a decorative background.  There’s a pattern in the Spring Fling pad that works particularly well for this.  I’ve also used images from Oh My Whiskers to complete this festive birthday card.

I started with an A7 white card base.  I blended on a combo of Wild Honey and Squeeze Lemonade Distress Oxide inks over the entire card front. I then splattered with a little clean water.  To decorate the card front I took a banner pattern from the Spring Fling 6×6 paper pad and fussy cut the banners out.  I adhered 3 banner pieces at alternating slight angles with thin dimensional foam squares.  I then trimmed off any extra hanging off the sides of the card.

I stamped out and Copic colored three butterflies and the kitty with balloons from Oh My Whiskers. I also stamped out a greeting from Perrrfect Sentiments and die cut with the coordinating Honey Cuts.  I added the images and die cut greeting with dimensional foam squares.  Lastly for a little embellishment, I added a scattering of sequins from the Mint Julep Spring Fling Mix.
