Happy Wednesday Honey Bee Stamps Fans!
Kendra here from Luv 2 Scrap N’ Make Cards to share a super fun Holiday card with you!!
I wanted to have some fun today and extend my use of my stamps! And encourage you to look at your stamps differently!
I grabbed the Brush Grunge Alpha set, as the brush stroke really caught my eye in this set! I already love this set for the beautiful alphabet and the endless sentiments and titles you can create, but I visioned a Christmas tree with this set, perfect with the holidays right around the corner!!
The brushstroke will create a beautiful Christmas tree with some add rhinestones!
You’re probably thinking I am crazy, but hold on!! 😉
I first started by collecting my supplies:
Brush Grunge Alpha stamp set
Life Right Now stamp set
First, I start by creating the trunk of the tree.
As you can see from the above photo I only ink up a tiny portion of the stamp, trying to make it as straight as possible.
The photo below shows the trunk stamped and the brushstroke inked up.
The brushstroke is a perfect size. The first layer of the tree, you can ink the entire stamp up.
The next photo shows the brushstroke inked above the trunk. And shows the brushstroke once again inked, but this time only partially. As you want the tree to get smaller as you create it to the top.
I think clean off my stamp and ink the other side of the brushstroke to finish the other half of the “branch”.
I continue to repeat these steps until I am happy with the size of the tree and how it looks. As you continue up the tree you will ink less and less of the brushstroke.
A look at my finished tree:
A beautiful tree!
Just an added piece of advice; sometimes if you don’t stamp fast enough you will get some lines, so usually when I am done with the tree and like how it looks, I sometimes will then go back quickly and re-stamp each layer.
And your final step is to embellish your tree as you wish!
How cool is that?!
My finished card:
I finished the tree up with an added star, also from the Brush Grunge Alpha set, and some rhinestones!
The “celebrate” sentiment is part of the Life Right Now set!
I hope I have inspired you to look at your stamps in different ways!!
