Hello Honey Bee friends! Leanne here and I have a couple of cards to share that were inspired from a music recital invitation I had seen on Pinterest.  I used some of the images from the new Music Speaks stamp set and came up with an elegant design that is sure to be a hit with any music lover.

The music recital invitation I had seen had a partial image of a grand piano and text overtop.  I thought I could easily replicate the look on a card.  I started with A2 sized panels of white and black card stock and then hand cut the curve on the right side to resemble that of grand piano.

I stamped the piano keys image from Music Speaks in black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder to give it a nice glossy finish.  I fussy cut the image, adhered to the bottom of the piano panel, and trimmed off the excess.  I added the piano panel to an A2 card base.  For the black piano card, I wanted a clean and elegant look.  I kept it simple with a gold embossed sentiment and music notes from the Music Speaks set.  I also added just a few Crystal Prism Gems for embellishment.

I decided to kick it up a notch with the white piano card.  I layered the piano panel over a stenciled background. I created the black and white music note pattern with one the new stencils from the Sheet Music stencil set and some Moonstone Glimmer Paste.  **One tip for getting an opaque stenciled look is to stencil with white pigment ink first before applying the Moonstone Glimmer Paste**  Next, I white heat embossed the trumpet, violin, and a few music notes onto black card stock.  I colored the trumpet and violin with some metallic watercolors –KURETAKE – Gansai Tambi Water – 6 Color Set – Starry Colors.  I stamped a greeting from Rockstar Sentiments directly onto the piano and then adhered the music instruments and notes around it along with a few Crystal Prism Gems.

  3. Our young grandson started piano lessons this year and is doing so well! His mama plays violin, so we’re not to surprised at his interest and skill. Your cards are so stunning, and I know our DIL would love a card with a music theme, of course so would Teddy. He told me the next instrument he’s going to play will be a guitar (he has a list) – move over Elvis! *haha* Hugs, Susie ~
