Make a splash! Use lots of your sentiment stamps!
Today’s project was a great way for me to use lots of my Happy Birthday sentiment stamps! I went through my Honey Bee Stamps collection and picked out all of the birthday greetings that would fit nicely with my design.
I have included a detailed video below of all the steps and supplies used to make this card. Sorry about the crazy, curly, morning hair 😉 Sometimes you just have to get crafty when you can, even if that means messy hair!
Thanks for sticking around! A detailed supply list can be found at the bottom of the post.
I used the Cloud Border Dies to create the two waves across the bottom of my card. Using 2 shades of card stock adds a little bit of interest and helps the wave pop off of the white card base. Using my Misti Stamping Tool, I lined up all of the birthday greetings so I could just move the wave to stamp each line without rearranging the stamps. The ink I used matches the teal card stock for a tone on tone effect. I love how this adds to the design without being too “busy”.
The mermaid tail comes from the Swimming By stamp set. I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and did super basic coloring with Copic Markers. The super shimmery glitter is Bo Bunny Sugar Glitter Paste, but any clear or iridescent glitter would work great. The “Swimming by to say” greeting is also found in the Swimming By stamp set. I stamped it in the same Memento Ink.
In the same color ink I included on the waves, I stamped the Swimming By mermaid and Happy Birthday in the inside of the card. I love how on the front it looks as if she’s diving into the waves, and on the inside she’s swimming around!
The beautiful jewels added to the front of the card are so gorgeous in real life! Photos really don’t do them justice. The large drops used to make the “splash” are called Sea Glass Rain Drops and Unicorn Rhinestones were used for the smaller droplets. Both of these sets of embellishments include several colors. Because the drops are clear, I adhered them to the card from with Glossy Accents. I wanted to keep that clear shimmery look!
Thanks for stopping by today!! See you soon 😉
