Hi friends. It’s Bobbi here with a lake scene card for dad on Father’s Day. I am totally in love with the entire Adventure Awaits release that is outdoor-focused with lots of great items for those who love to fish, ride motorcycle, spend time outdoors and more. Today, I made this scene using the Lakeside Scene Builder die. With the coordinating At the Lake stencils, it’s like having Bob Ross in your craft room! On this card, I’m using the following Honey Bee Stamps products:
Lakeside Scene Builder Honey Cuts dies
One of the Guys stamp set and Honey Cuts dies
At the Lake Set of 6 Layering Stencils
Be Still stamp set and Honey Cuts dies
The featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue for adhering my elements together. My card is 5″ X 7″ in size.
To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I started with the Lakeside Scene Builder Honey Cuts die and cut the die cut scene out of white cardstock. I used the At the Lake Set of 6 Layering Stencils, my blender brush and Distress Oxide Inks to color the layers of the scene. I used a combination of greens for the trees, grays and blue-violet for the mountains and blues for the water including Tumbled Glass for the sky, Rustic Wilderness, Mowed Lawn and Citron for the trees and grounds, Lost Shadow and Shaded Lilac for the mountain and Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon for the water. I colored the canoe using Copics in R89, R59, R29 E43 and E55. The paddle was colored using E47 and E57. I added the paddle and boat to the water. Additional foliage and shadowing was added to the scene using Copics in YG67 and YG63. Additional Copics were used to enhance the scene’s elements, too.
I used the Summer Cabins Honey Cuts dies to create a little cabin by the lake. I also made two smaller trees from the same set and added them behind the cabin. I cut the scene out (cropping to 5″ wide), added a hinge on the left side and covered the hinge with another white cutout of the scene for a clean back. (See next photo for back side view) You can see some color bleed in the holes, but it looks good.
For the inside panel, I blended on inks in blues and greens to match the front panel scene. I stamped the phrase “With love on Father’s Day,” from the stamp set, One of the Guys stamp set at the top so it would show through when the front panel is closed. I also stamped “You mean so much to me” from the same set right behind the panel. At the bottom, I heat embossed in white the “Rest & relax. You deserve it” phrase from the stamp set, Be Still stamp set. I attached the 1/2″ right side of the hinge to the back side of this interior panel and finished off the backside with another 5″ X 9″ white piece of cardstock so that the hinge and any bleeding would be contained and not seen.
