Hello, everyone! Happy Saturday. It’s Cassie here, and I’ve got another card to share with you today. Today I’m using one of my favorite mediums, Distress Ink. I love the versatility of the inks. You can do so much with them, which makes them such a great investment.
I started by die cutting a stitched rectangle from some Bristol Smooth card stock. I stamped the long bunch of flowers from the Zen Flowers in some water proof black ink. I used my Distress Ink to color in the flowers. Instead of doing a multitude of colors like I normally do, I used only yellow for the flowers and green for the leaves and vines. I wanted to keep the colors minimal, and I love the Mustard Seed Distress Ink.
Next I cut a strip of card stock that would fit on the right side of the card panel. I wanted it to cover the flowers partially and be flush with the right end of the card. I used some dies that embossed pretty details on the piece. I wanted to give it some texture and interest, but also keep it somewhat neutral so it didn’t compete with the flowers. I stamped, water colored, and die cut a couple of the leaves and vines as well as one of the flowers. I popped those up with some foam tape and put them in the center of the panel.
The last touch was to heat emboss a sentiment onto some vellum and attach it to the card! I also added some Diamonds for a little sparkle. I used some Tombow Mono glue and applied it where the words were so that it didn’t show through. I attached all the pieces to a card base and the card was finished! I love that you could do this in so many different colors and personalize it to who you are sending it to.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you all have a great weekend, and I’ll see you again soon with another card 🙂 Bye!
