Hello everyone! And welcome to my Wednesday post!! Today, I’ve made a baby card. An “It’s A Boy” card, in fact!
I started by die-cutting a scalloped oval from some watercolour cardstock. I blended on some heavy colour using Distress Oxide Inks in Broken China and Cracked Pistachio. I then flicked on some water drops to get the cool bleached effect. And to top it off, I used a mixture of water and Perfect Pearls (in the colour Perfect Pearls), and sprayed it liberally.
While that was drying, I stamped the teddy bear, the blocks and the rubber duckie from the Welcome Baby stamp set in Versafine Black Onyx ink onto watercolour cardstock. I also stamped that cute little box from the Curious Kitties stamp set. I coloured all the images with my Stabilo 68 pens.
For the sentiment, I stamped the “boy” word onto white cardstock in blue ink and die cut it with theHooray Baby Honey Cuts. Before adhering the images to the oval focal point, I stamped “It’s A” with Versamark Ink and embossed it with white embossing powder.
I cut a slit, following the black stamped line on the box to create an opening where I could slide my toys in. I simply fastened them to the back of the box with Scotch Tape. I adhered the box filled with toys and the boy word with foam adhesive.
To give my plain white cardbase texture, I used a triangle embossing folder. Then foam mounted the scalloped oval, as well.
To finish the card off, I added some light blue enamel dots and some dark blue ribbon.
Thanks for stopping by today!! Have a fabulous day and I’ll see you next week!!
