If it’s going to be horribly hot outside….
I’m going to keep playing with summer colors. I’ve been working on some holiday stuff for some assignments, but I just can’t REALLY get into autumn or holiday crafting when it’s 95* outside. Blah. BUT! Warm weather inspires pretty floral cards, so I’ve combined a few different sets today to make this gigantic pretty pink floral card. Let’s get started!
I began by stamping and embossing the gorgeous blooms from Spring Blossoms onto some watercolor paper, then die cutting them with the coordinating dies. I also die cut and stamped the basket from Bushel and a Peck. I watercolored the images using colors from the Prima Odyssey paint palette.
After I had finished watercoloring all of the pieces, I went to work on the greeting. I die cut the “thankful” from black card stock and stamped the coordinating sentiments on strips of white card stock. Because the flowers and basket are fairly large elements, they covered basically the entirety of an A2 card front when I began working on the arrangement, so my solution was to make an A7 card! Luckily, Honey Bee has some fantastic A7 dies, including these Stitched Rectangle dies. I die cut the largest one from some pale pink card stock and mounted it on an A7 card base, then arranged the bouquet and adhered it using dimensional foam adhesive and trimmed off any pieces that were hanging over the side. I added the elements of greeting on the basket using liquid adhesive.
The final step was to add some Moonlight Rhinestones to add a little sparkle.
Well, that’s all for me today! I hope it’s cooler where you are… we are supposed to finally get some pleasant weather this weekend, so one can only hope that we are heading in the right (aka autumnal) direction! Thanks for stopping by, and have a marvelous weekend!
