Hi there! Emily Midgett here with you today, and I have some inspiration for you using some spotlight die cutting and pops of color, with lots of texture and crisp, clean white! Let’s get started with the details.

I love the look of white-on-white die cut cover plate backgrounds, featuring lots of texture. It’s so elegant to me. But sometimes, I want to create a little “spotlight” area, to give my stamped or colored images a bit of a clean area and create a focal point. On this card, I die cut the Pineapple Lattice Cover Plate die from some white cardstock, then die cut one of the Hexagon Solid Stacks from the center of the A2 sized die cut. I then cut a white hexagonal frame, again using the Hexagon Solid Stacks. I adhered the die cut cover plate to a white A2 card base with liquid adhesive, then used foam tape to add the white frame. This leaves a plain background behind the window, perfect for showcasing my die cut elements and sentiment!

Next, I stamped a few elements from the Wildflowers stamp set using Intense Black ink, then colored the images using Copic markers. (That blue coneflower is totally my favorite!) I then die cut them using the coordinating Honey Cuts.

I also stamped a greeting from the My Favorite Flower Stamp set, and die cut it with the coordinating die. I arranged the die cut pieces on the card front within the frame, popping them up with some more foam adhesive for extra dimension. Finally, I added a few Rainbow Rhinestones for some sparkle!

Well, that’s all for my post today. I hope I’ve inspired you to try die cutting on your die cut… such a fun way to get more from your dies! Thanks so much for dropping by, and have a marvelous day!
