Happy new week friends! It’s Keiko from Happy Tree Studio today and I have this 3D pop up box card filled with Hydrangea to share with you. I used bunch of previously released products to create this very dimensional box card. It’s really filled with beautiful Hydrangea so it doesn’t fit in a standard A2 envelop, however, it perfectly fit in an A7 (5″ x 7″) envelop!

To make a box card base, I die cut the box from basket weave pattern paper from Beach Vibes paper pad using A2 Surprise Box Card Base die set (you need two piece to foam a box). I also die cut three inserts from card stock (this could be any color since they won’t be visible once you put the box together). I adhere one side of the two main box parts together with Precision Tip Glue and adhere the three insert pieces before glueing the other side. To decorate the box, I die cut a piece of white card stock with Delicate Doily Card Base die and cut it to size and glued them to the box flaps to mimic a basket liner.

The Hydrangeas are die cut using Lovely Layers: Hydrangea die set from watercolor card stock and watercolored with Distress Inks. I recently came across a photo of multi colored Hydrangea in a magazine and decided to use four different colors. I die cut, color and put together two sets of flowers and cut each into two so they would fit nicely in the box. I also die cut and colored three leaves.

To adhere the Hydrangeas to the box, I first used glue to adhere the tips of the flowers, and then added acetate strips to the back to make sure they would stay put. I adhered one flower piece to each insert and the remaining one to the front of the box. I also added the leaves in the back. The box was pretty full at this point but I decided to add two adorable bees to finish off. They are die cut from watercolor card stock using Honey Bees die set and colored with Distress Inks. I adhered a layer of blue velum on the back of their wings. I then added strips of acetates to the back and added to the box.

To finish off the box card, I white heat embossed the sentiments (from Inside: Thankful Sentiments) on the die cut tag (I used Tag Builder die) and added with a bit of twine.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Have a wonderful week!!
