Good morning! Emily Midgett here today with a cute little platypus to brighten up your birthday! The Penny the Platypus stamp set has such an adorable array of accessories that she can fit almost any occasion. And, I’ve discovered a new obsession… no-line coloring critters with my Polychromos pencils. I can’t get enough! Let’s get started with the details!
To start, I stamped the sweet little platypus (with a bow and holding a flower!) using pale gray ink on some white card stock. I used my Polychromos colored pencils to color her in. My method for no-line coloring: work in sections. If you know a spot would be slightly shadowed, like her belly, color it first and add darker shading, then color the paw (flipper? I’m not sure haha!) with slightly lighter shading because it’s above the belly. That’s just my technique, but I’m sure there are other ways to do no-line coloring. 🙂
After Penny was colored, I die cut the greeting using the Birthday Cheer dies and the Hugs dies from some dark gray card stock and added it to the card base using liquid adhesive. I also added some Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the hugs die cut to make it stand out more.
The final touch was to add some Cupcake sequins for a touch of sparkle!
Well that’s all for me today! I hope you have a marvelous weekend!
