Ho Ho No.

Ho Ho No.

Dec 22, 2017 | Posted by Emily | Emily Midgett |

Good morning! Emily here with a last minute Christmas card with so much sass I almost couldn’t handle it. I just love these adorable Blah Humbunnies. I don’t know that I ever would have created a sassy, cranky holiday card before, but these little bunnies are so darn cute that I couldn’t resist. I did some Copic coloring for the bunny on a previous card, so I thought I’d do some no-line pencil coloring this time. Let’s get started!

I started by stamping the bunny using white pigment ink onto some Toned Gray colored pencil paper, then added the reindeer antlers over the top. One of the nice things about no line pencil coloring is that I don’t have to bother with masking paper, because I can color right over the top of the messy areas and after seeing the finished product, nobody is the wiser. I colored the bunny using white colored pencil, adding some gray and black shadows to indicate shadows. I even made his little nose red to make him a Rudolph bunny. (So cute!)

I also added some garlands of lights at the top of the panel and colored them with Prismacolors. I stamped the sassy greeting under the bunny so that it acts almost as a seat and added a red period at the end to coordinate with the red nose on my “Rudolph” bunny. I trimmed a little bit off the edges of the gray panel and added it to a red foil A2 sized panel.

And that’s it! Super simple, super easy to mail because it’s nice and flat. Anybody still working on holiday cards? I’m so proud of myself that I got mine all mailed last Monday. I’ve never been that early before. It’s helpful that I cheated and did about half of them with photo cards that I purchased online…. ahem. You do what you have to do to keep sane during this crazy time of year! Despite my sassy and somewhat jaded rabbit, I hope everybody has a wonderful holiday, filled with lots of family, friends, and yummy treats! Merry Christmas!
