He is Risen!

He is Risen!

Mar 20, 2018 | Posted by Kelley | Cardmaking, Design Team, Die Cutting, Ink Blending, Kelley Kohout, Misti, Papercrafting |

Hello there!

With Easter right around the corner, I wanted to put together a card using supplies that aren’t necessarily for Easter. I love doing this, by the way. I just love digging through my supplies and trying to think of new ways to put things together for what I’m wanting or needing at the time.

I started with the light yellow card stock. I used the Ocean Scene Building Stencil Set to create the rays of sun. Using Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide Ink and a Mini Ink Blending Tool, I added color darker toward the hillside and lighter at the top. I think if I were doing this design again, I would shift my stencil to add more sun rays.

The green hillside was diet using the Hill Border Dies. This set comes with 6 dies: 3 dies with cut lines and 3 with the stitched line. Instead of cutting my matching cut line and stitched line apart, I’ve left them together. This makes it easy for my to cut the hillside with the stitch line everytime. I adhered the hills onto the yellow sunray card stock.

The sun was created using the super sparkly Sunshine Disc Sequins. I lightly penciled in the arch that I wanted and then adhered the sequins, tucking some under the hillside. Again, you could totally make your sun as wide as the hillside. That would be beautiful and so shiny! For the sentiment I used both the Brushed Grunge Alpha and the Simple Alpha Stamps sets. I used the Mini Misti and  stamped it in Versafine Onyx Black Ink so it would be nice and bold. The card panel was added to coordinating patterned paper with foam tape, just so it pops up a little off of the card base. The whole thing was adhered to a top folding card base.
