Hello crafty friends! It’s Keiko from Happy Tree Studio with you today! I’m sharing this spooky yet cute haunted house shaped card. It mails nicely in the standard A2 envelop and can be enjoyed as a Halloween decoration (just place an LED tea light in between!).

I started off with all the die cutting. The house base (I cut three of them. One for the front panel to adhere all the pieces, and two for the card base), hinge, gable roof, chimney, door steps, and two bushes are cut out from various colors of card stocks using House Builder die set. All the other accessary pieces such as pumpkins, ghosts, and spooky tree are from Haunted House Add On die set. For the wall, I cut a piece of wood grain card stock to 0.5″ strips. I inked them with Weathered Wood & Black Soot Distress Inks and glued them on to the house base. When house pieces were all cut and inked, I added some black and white splatters to add texture. For dark colored pieces (roof, door, tomb stone, etc), I added white pigment ink with sponge tool to make them look spooky. The card base was made with two house base die cut adhered on the top with the hinge piece included in the House Builder die set.

Before start building the house, I die cut out the windows from the house base (both a card panel and the front of the card base) and the gable piece so the light can shine through when lit up. I also cut out the portion of the front door using craft knife to make a window. I then added two layers of orange colored velum to the back of all the windows before adhering the front panel to the house shaped card base.

Now all you need to do is decorating the house! I die cut these ghosts from heavy weight velum and glued them using a tiny amount of liquid glue on their tails (feet???). For the pumpkins, I die cut three of them from orange card stock and backed them with some black card stock. I placed a pair on the front porch, but can you spot the third one??

I couldn’t resist the cute Boo-To-You confetti mix. I had to use them! I glued the spider webs around the windows, and cute sculls on the fence. The orange stars on the spooky tree are also from this mix. As a final touch, I added some glitter to the tree and bats, and Glossy Accents to the pumpkins and the door handle. I also added some liquid pearl to the two wooden boards on the door so they look like they were nailed. I know these are such a tiny details, but I tell you, they will make a difference!

Now you can display this cute house! I placed a LED tea light inside and the house look so spooky!

Thank you so much for spending time with me!!
Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
