I hope you’re enjoying an amazing long weekend filled with wonderful weather. It was 75 and sunny here today! Whoo hoo! I’m over all the chilly rainy days.

My sister’s 40th birthday was earlier this week and while we didn’t get to celebrate like we usually would I did get to surprise her with some balloon yard decorations so it didn’t pass buy unnoticed.

The balloons I chose were fun flamingos wearing crowns and black, gold, and white striped 40th birthday balloons. The two pretty much picked my color scheme for me and I ran with it.

I used the new Rectangle Spotlight Stencil Masks with just the stripe stencil from our Buffalo Plaid set to create my background. I loved the idea of gold confetti. To create it really easily I just pulled out the falling snow stamp from our Silent Night set and heat set it with gold embossing pwder. BAM. Confetti.

The rest was a series of layered die cuts. I used distress oxides to color the pink balloon to match my pink glitter paper. The gold glossy cardstock is such a fun pop of metallic don’t you think?
