Hi there Honey Bee fans! It’s Lydia here with you today and I’m sooooo excited to be sharing my first post with you as part of the Honey Bee Stamps design team!

Today I’m sharing with you a card that features some of the awesome digi stamps from Melissa. Digi stamps are a great way of adding lots of different images to your craft stash without taking up any room in your craftroom and they are a little kinda too the pocket too 😉 Although you can’t do some techniques with them such as heat embossing, you can do an awesome one if you print off the images on a laser printer…… foiling!

If you know me you know I’m a lover of both gold and floral images, so mixing them together is just a no-brainer for me.

So I printed out the ‘You Are Loved’ from Beautiful Life Digital Bundle and also the flowers and leaves from Sweet As Honey Digital Bundle on a laser printer. (You need to use a laser printer for the foiling technique but can print the digial images on an inkjet if you don’t want to foil them.) I then coloured in my images, I find it’s easier to colour the images before you foil them.

Once I was happy with the colouring of my blooms and leaves I ran them through my Minc with some gold foil…. check out that shine you get from the words and image outlines…. swoon.

Well, I hope you like what I’ve shared with you today and I’ll see you again next week!

Lydia, this is an absolutely gorgeous card! I’m crazy about foiling and my mom got me the Minc machine for my birthday. I’m super excited to start using it. I’m curious as to how you got the foil to do just certain parts of the flower and not cover the entire image. Did you cut up the foil or does the foil not stick to the parts that have been colored? TIA for the advice and thanks for sharing this beautiful card!

Hi there Julie! Thank you so much 🙂
You will love the Minc… I certainly love mine. Ok so how the foil works, the foil will only stick to toner of a printed image (or bonding powder if you stamp and emboss with bonding powder), so you need to print your images off on a laser printer or you could print your image off on a normal printer the go to a store where they do copies and yet copies, these would then be printed on a laser printer. You then cover the whole of the image with a piece of foil and as the foil will only stick to the toner it won’t go in the inside of the petals.
I really hope this helps, if not let me know.
