Hello! It’s Keiko from Happy Tree Studio here today sharing this cute gift bag shaped birthday shaker card.

This is perfect for a birthday for someone special who deserves a little shopping therapy. You can tack a gift card (or cash) in the little envelop glued inside the card, and the card itself fits perfectly inside a A7 envelop.

I started by die cutting a gift bag front from kraft card stock with Gift Bag Card die.  Since I am not making a bag, I cut off the little flaps from all three sides.  I also die cut some tissue paper with the inserts die from the same set (you only need a top portion which looks like, well tissue paper!). Because tissue paper is pretty thin, I die cut 2 identical pieces to layer. To make a shaker window, I cut out the square from the front panel and back it with an acetate piece which I heat embossed the sentiment on using You Are Loved stamp set. To make the window a little prettier, I made a frame out of cream card stock with Postage Stamp Squares Honey Cuts die (3rd largest one) and glued on top. I then stamped, colored and die cut the adorable bunny from Blah Bunny stamp set (I used my Polychromos colored pencils today). I heat embossed “SHOP ‘TIL you DROP!” sentiment on a piece of yellow card stock cut to a banner shape. I glued the bunny and the banner to complete the window front.

Now on to the actual shaker part. First, I thread some blue ribbon through the two holes that the die created and tie a bow to make a gift bag handle. Then I glued the 2 pieces of the tissue paper I die cut earlier. I applied 2 layers of foam tape on the back of the window panel, put some sequins and gem stones in, and sealed the shaker with a piece of polka dot paper cut to A7 size. I made a top folding A7 card base out of kraft card stock and glued the shaker on with some liquid adhesive. As a final touch, I stamped “HBD2U” from Piece of Cake set on the tag die cut with the coordinating Honey Cuts die (I layered two tags in the set) and tie it on the ribbon with some twine.

For the inside of the card, I heat embossed “Congratulations” and a small heart from Welcome Home stamp set and glued a little envelop I made to tack a gift card in.

That’s it for today!
Thank you so so much for stopping by.
Have a wonderful week!!

KEIKO
