Hi everyone! AmyR here to share this fun floating shaker card I made using Honey Bee’s Ocean Borders stamp set along with the mermaid from the Swimming By set.

I created the background with the Ocean Borders stamp by heat embossing it onto some Bristol Smooth card stock with Nuvo Clear embossing powder. I then smooshed several different Distress Inks onto a craft mat, sprayed them with water and pressed the embossed paper into it multiple times.

For the mermaid and turtle I stamped those onto more Bristol Smooth card stock, this time with Hero Arts Intense Black ink. I watercolored them in with Clean Color Real Brush markers, then added some shimmer to the mermaid with a Sakura Glitter Gelly Roll pen.

I die cut the Ocean Borders background with the largest die from Honey Bee’s A2 Double Stitch Frames Honey Cuts dies and used the outside frame to create my shaker. I stamped the sentiment onto the transparency with Stazon Cotton Ball white ink, and then I suspended the mermaid in the frame with some nylon thread before adding my sequins.

I finished the inside of the card by stamping the mermaid with a couple of the same Distress Inks I’d used on the front of the card, then stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment with the black ink and that was it!

To see how this card came together check out my video below:

Thanks for joining me today! I have all the supplies I used linked below!
