Hello friends! Happy new week! It’s Keiko from Happy Tree Studio and I have this adorable fireplace scene card to share with you all. The new release is so good and there are so many fun goodies, but if I have to choose my favorite (not easy to do!!!), I have to say this book reading ghost (and the kitty from Scaredy Cat die set of course!). Just look at him! So I decided to create a cozy scene with him.

Here are the three die sets I used:
Lovely Layers: Fireplace
Lovely Layers: Fireplace Falloween Add-On
Lovely Layers: Front Porch Falloween (kitty)

When you die cut the parts with the fireplace and add-on sets, you will have all the elements you need to create a perfect halloween (or fall) fireplace scene. You just have to glue them together! (I couldn’t resist adding the kitty from the Front Porch Add-On set) Here are the few TIPs:
* Use pattern papers, velum, or glitter/foil card stocks for the certain elements to add interest. I used some blue tinted velum for the spider webs and pattern papers for the wall, floor, rag, and the chair.
* Add some pen details to some of the die cuts to enhance the texture. I traced the embossed details with thin gray marker or clear gel pen so they will stand out.
* Use both liquid and foam adhesives to vary the depth of each die cuts. For the thin pieces like the trim piece on the fireplace, I simply die cut multiple of them and glue them together to get dimension.
* Add some Glossy Accents to the die cuts to add shine and subtle dimension. I used it on the pine corns and candles.

The sentiment is from Hooked On You stamp set (not new) and I stamped it on the top with dark brown ink. I liked what it says and how it fills the space nicely.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Have a wonderful week!!

This is wonderful! I just received my fireplace dies. I was wondering how you get ahold of those little pieces to glue? Is there some sort of trick?

    Thanks!
