March is just around the corner, and with it comes the strong winds here in Texas. That windy weather results in lots of scary storms, but it also signals the end of winter and ushers in the beginning of our very short spring. The last two days here have been windy and raining, but today we had sunshine…and I am ready for lots of sunshine!

All the images today were stamped with Copic Friendly Gina K Designs Amalgam Ink. I stamped onto #80 Neenah Solar Crest Cardstock and colored the images with Copic Markers. All hand drawn features were penciled in and the lines were reinforced with a Copic Multiliner 0.2 Marker. Let’s get started

I stamped the flying girl, the umbrella, and the cat from the Seasonal Sweeties Stamp Set. I added polka dots and stripes to the umbrella. I have included the colors that I used below. Stripes were added to the coat using a Pink and a Wine 0.3 Copic Multiliner. I went over the eyes, the cat’s nose, the tops of the umbrellas, and the coat buttons with a Black Gelly Roll Pen.

The images were cut out using the coordinating Seasonal Sweeties Die Set. I fussy cut the rest of the umbrella. To create the umbrella handle, I did a partial die cut, as you can see below. I cut the rest of it with scissors, colored it, and glued it to the umbrella.

I decided that I wanted the cat to have an umbrella as well so I stamped the dog image. I colored his umbrella and fussy cut it. Rather than mask the stamp before inking, I used a White Gelly Roll Pen to cover the few small marks from the dog’s hands and the girl’s coat.

To create the background panel, I used the four sided sky stencil from the Outdoor Scene Builder Stencil Set. I sponged it on using a Blending Tool and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. I did go back over a few small areas with Spun Sugar and Squeezed Lemonade to add some shadow and sunshine around the clouds. You can see it in the final pictures.

I wanted the images to appear high in the sky, so I created a rooftop. I truly can’t draw…but I can draw a few straight lines. I didn’t want it to be a focal point so I colored it in shades of grey.

The sentiment is also from the Seasonal Sweeties Stamp SetIt was stamped with Versamark Ink, onto Black cardstock, and heat embossed with Hero Arts White Detail Embossing Powder. An anti static powder tool is a must on dark cardstock! I use the MIST Creative Corners quite a lot to line up my sentiments. It works like a charm.

The word Sunny was cut out using the coordinating Seasonal Sweeties Die Set. Rather than cut a bunch of foam tape, I found it easier to cut additional images of the girl and stack and glue them. I tried out the new Hero Arts Precision Glue. It works beautifully. The small tip is perfect for small images, like the umbrella handles.

I stamped the trio of hearts, from the set, using Cactus Flower Wendy Vecchi Archival Ink. I colored them in with an R20 Copic Marker. I drew in the dotted lines for the smoke coming from the chimney.

The panel was mounted onto the new Hero Arts Azalea Cardstock. This cardstock comes in many beautiful colors and has a nice weight to it. Everything was added to a #110 Neenah Cardstock card base.

As always, thank you for sharing a bit of your time with me today on another creative journey. You can find me on Instagram at jadanchik or on my blog at jadanchik.com.
