Hello festive friends! I made cookies for Santa today. I hope he likes them! These cookies are really special because they are filled with lots of love and NO calories. They are handmade and meant for you and Santa Claus. I hope you like them.
I’m using the following new Honey Bee Stamps Cozy Christmas release products:
Lovely Layers: Christmas Cookies Honey Cuts dies
Homemade With Love stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies
Sprinkled With Joy stamp set and coordinating Honey Cuts dies
Postcard Holiday Add-On Honey Cuts dies
Lovely Layers: Mini Holiday Florals Honey Cuts dies (for the evergreen, only)
For the basics… my featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue and for when I want more dimension, Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab for adhering my elements together. My blender brushes (large and small) are a must for ink blending color on the background, too. For white highlights, I use my white Gelly Roll pen. My card is 5″ X 7″ in size.
To make this card, I used the Lovely Layers: Christmas Cookies Honey Cuts dies to make these sweet cookies. I used Copics to lightly add some shading to the frosting to make it look slightly thick. I usually add a few dots here and there in the dough using a fine-tip brown marker and white Gelly Roll pen. It makes the dough look a little bit more real. I also shadow the cookies using either a Copic Marker E42, E55 or E57 depending how “done” I want my cookies to look! Distress Oxide Walnut Stain and a light hand with a blender tool also helps to “bake” the cookies around the edges.
I also die cut the wood-handle platter using the Homemade With Love stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies. I colored the woodgrain using Copics in E57, E55, E42 and W3 colors along with a fine-tip black marker. Cookies were layered on the platter, keeping Santa for a later step. A baker’s twine bow around the handle completes the platter.
For the background, I used white cardstock, pattern papers from the Gingerbread Village Paper Pad, and the curvy border die from the Postcard Holiday Add-On Honey Cuts dies. I layered the pieces and attached the platter in the upper center area, leaving room for the Sprinkled With Joy stamp set and coordinating Honey Cuts dies sentiment below. I also added a sentiment above and that Santa cookie in the upper right corner. The sentiment was made from the Homemade With Love stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies. Lastly, I added some evergreen from the Lovely Layers: Mini Holiday Florals Honey Cuts dies. If this set is sold out, the evergreen from the Postcard Holiday Add-On Honey Cuts dies would work perfectly, too.
