Happy Monday friends! It’s Keiko from Happy Tree Studio here today. It has been excruciatingly hot here in Tokyo and I needed to make something snowy today! I have decided to use the new van die to make a fun Christmas scene card.
For the snowy background, I die cut a piece of navy card stock with Snow Day Cover Plate , blended some white pigment ink around the edges, then adhere it to the white card base. I then made a snowy hill with white glitter card stock and foam mounted on the panel. You can use any hill die or simply hand cut it using scissors. I picked out a color scheme with pink, red, green, mint, and white and die cut all the elements from colored card stocks and some specialty papers such as foil and pattern papers. Here are the die sets I used:
Lovely Layers: Beach Bound (van)
Build A Snowman (snowman, gift packages)
Christmas Market Cart Add-On (greeneries, wreath, Christmas lights)
Summer Cabins (tree on the van)
To add texture and interest to some of the die cuts, I either inked them or added shading with markers. After adhering the die cut elements, I splattered the entire panel with some white paint to add some finer snow. The sentiments are from Bitty Buzzwords: Holidays set and I die cut the Christmas twice from white card stock and once from white glitter card stock. I then die cut the shadow from velum and adhere the glitter one on top and other two white layers on the back. I white heat embossed the Merry word on the same navy card stock and cut it out (I used Mini Messages Banner die but you can easily hand trim it). I added the sentiments and the card is complete!
Thank you so much for stopping by today. Have a wonderful week!
