Hello everyone!

I was so happy to see the “feel better” and “get well soon” sentiments in the new Cheerful Sentiments stamp set. It seems that everyone I know has been sick with the flu or something else going around, so this was perfect to make a quick card!

I started out by stamping the bandaid and heart from the Penny the Platypus stamp set. They were inked in Nuvo Clear Mark Ink and then stamped randomly across the Bristol Card Stock. After stamping, I covered the images with white embossing powder and heat set them. Using the Emboss/Resist technique, I applied Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers, and Faded Jeans Distress Oxide Inks. The smooth embossing powder resists the ink and remains white. I spritzed a small amount of water onto the background to get that great oxide reaction.

The white card stock was adhered in the corner of the background and the overhanging edges of the paper simply trimmed off the sides. I used the Mini Misti to line up the “feel better” greeting in the corner of the white panel and stamped it in Versafine Onyx Black Ink. You could stop there in your card design if desired. I wanted to add the tiny “praying for you” banner below for just a little added interest and I love the sentiment. It was also stamped in Versafine Onyx Black Ink and adhered to the background panel. I trimmed the small tail off of the side.

This card front was trimmed to 4×5.25 and added to an A2 (4.25×5.5 in.) card base. For a little added shimmer, I added the Moon Shine Disc Sequins with a small amount of liquid adhesive. The tiny hearts are from the Little Love cellophane sequin set.

Thank you for stopping by!
