Happy holidays! With all the holiday hustle and bustle, it’s easy to forget those December birthdays. Today, I’m sharing a birthday card that is bright and bold for any winter birthday celebration. Did I mention this sweet birthday cake set it retiring? If you love it, buy now and save while it is still available. You can shop the entire retiring and clearance section here.
Here’s an entire list of the Honey Bee Stamps products I’m using for this card:
Fancy Frosting stamp set and coordinating Honey Cuts dies
Foil Script: Wishes Hot Foil Plate & Honey Cuts dies (another alternate option that does not require a hot foil system is Miss You Big Time stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies)
Lovely Layers: Candy Cane dies for the bow, only
The featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue and for when I want more dimension, Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab for adhering my elements together. My card is 5″ X 7″ in size.
To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I started by using pattern papers for the background. Both prints are from the Holiday Wishes Paper Pad. Next, I stamped, die cut and colored the cake, frosting, balloons, cake stand and flowers using the Fancy Frosting stamp set and coordinating Honey Cuts dies. I used Copic Markers E50-053 for the case, RV91, RV93, RV43, RV02, R17 and R14 for the balloons and cake. I attached the elements together to make the cake. I also cut the bow from red cardstock. I added gem stickers in red to the frosting on the cake, added a red “sash” around the bottom layer and attached the bow and flowers. I added the balloons to the cake, attaching two using and for when I want more dimension, Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab.
I hot foiled the sentiments, “wishes” and “happy birthday” using the FoilAScript: Wishes Hot Foil Plate & Honey Cuts dies, my Spellbinder Hot Glimmer System and gold foil. Another alternate option that does not require a hot foil system is Miss You Big Time stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies. I attached the words to the front using foam tabs, and added a couple of gold gem stickers to the letters to finish the card.
