Hi Bee friends. It’s Bobbi Lemanski here celebrating March with two cards for this month’s special days – Saint Patrick’s Day and the first day of spring! I’m using the same sets to make both of these cards. It’s fun to see how the same collection of sets can make two different cards. I’m using the following Honey Bee Stamps products:
Sweet Spring Mice stamp set and coordinating dies
My Favorite Flower stamp set and coordinating dies
Rainbow Accent Honey Cuts dies
Clover Petals 3D Embossing Folder
Gingham: Happy Hearts paper pad
Olive You More sequins Succulent Garden confetti no longer available
The featured projects below are made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panels. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue for adhering my elements together. My cards are 5″ X 7″ in size.
First Day of Spring Floral Card
To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I used Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card front panel. I blended Distressed Oxide ink in Salvaged Patina, Mustard Seed, and Carved Pumpkin and splattered water to lift some of the ink. I splattered some white paint over the dried ink. I cut a rainbow out of the inked cardstock and backed the opening with white cardstock splattered with aqua and blue watercolor paints.
I stamped the mouse and pail design, three singular flowers and the sentiment in black ink. I cut them out and colored them using Copic Sketch markers in the following colors:
- Mouse: W5, W3, W1, W0, R11
- Flowers: BG13, BG11, Y38, Y19, YR31, YR62, YR65, R05, R11
- Pail: BG72, BG13, BG11, YR24, YR31
The sentiment, mouse and the two largest singular flowers were attached using foam tabs. Everything else was glued in place including the color confetti/sequins.
Saint Patrick’s Day Card
This 5″ X 7″ card features the new Clover Petals 3D Embossing Folder for the top half background and gingham in coral for the bottom half. I cut two 1/8″ strips in two shades of green to match the shamrock. I adhered them over the seam between the embossed and gingham pieces. I also cut the rainbow elements out of multiple colors of gingham paper and attached them over the embossed background. I added white faux stitching to every other rainbow arch.
I stamped the mouse and sentiment in black ink. I used the following Copic Sketch Marker colors to color the mouse with shamrock image:
- Mouse: W5, W3, W1, W0, R11, R20
- Shamrock: YG95, YG67, YG17, YG03, YG61
The mouse image and the sentiment were attached over the rainbow design using foam tabs to make them stand out a bit. Lastly, I added a few green sequins to complete the look.
