Hello friends! It’s Keiko from Happy Tree Studio and today, I am sharing this ‘Box’ of Christmas cookies with you. I don’t bake real cookies but for some reason, I LOVE making these paper ones!
To make a ‘box’, I used one of the frame die from Post Card: Holiday Add-On die set. I die cut this from cream card stock and also a piece of green gingham paper from Gingerbread Village paper pad cut to slightly larger. I then backed these two pieces with a piece of clear acetate to make the top of the ‘box’. The sentiment is from Homemade With Love stamp set and I stamped on to the acetate with black Stayz On ink. For the bottom of the ‘box’, I made a card base cut to the same size and adhered the left over (inside) piece of the green gingham paper.
For the cookies, I used the new Lovely Layers: Christmas Cookies and die cut the base piece for each design from both brown craft foam and brown card stock and glue them together to make dimensional cookies. To add some texture, I lightly inked the edges with brown ink (I like them crispy!). The layering pieces (‘icing’) are cut from colored card stock and white glitter card stock (I cut two each and layered them so the icing will look dimensional). I also added some gem and pearl stickers, clear glitter, and Glossy Accents for fun details. I thought the tiny tiny gingerbread man would be super cute so I made two of them using a die included in the Lovely Layers: Hoosier Cabinet die set.
I then adhered the cookies in the ‘box’ and added two layers of foam tapes on the back of the frame. Before adhering the frame, I added a piece of red ribbon. To decorate the box even more (I always don’t know when to stop!), I made a gingerbread man wax seal using the new wax stamper and wax melts. I then cut him out (it is pretty easy to do) and colored the details with markers. I think he is the cutest little guy!
Thank you so much for stopping by today. Have a wonderful week!!
