Good morning & happy Tuesday!! This is Brenda & I’m so happy that you’ve stopped by today!!

I have “a thing” for aqua mason jars! I may have quite a collection of them…ahem. One of my favorite ways to use them is to add flowers. So much more interesting than a plain, clear vase…right? As soon as I saw the Mason Jar Die, I knew I wanted to figure out a way to make it into a vase. This card turned out even better than I thought it would!! I love it when that happens!!!

I began with the Mason Jar Die…die-cutting the base twice from heavyweight white cardstock; the lid from gray cardstock and the label from polka-dot vellum. I cut one of the card bases in half, giving me just a single jar. I sketched a line around the inside of the die-cut and cut it out with an craft knife. Tumbled Glass & Broken China Distress Oxide Inks were blended onto the front of the cardbase, as well as the hand cut piece. Next, I stamped several Cosmos with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them with Copic markers, adding in details with colored pencils. I cut them all out with the Cosmos Coordinating Honey Cuts and added some detail to the stamen with a yellow gel pen. I played around with the arrangement of the flowers, until I found something I liked. I also made sure that the entire card would fit into a #10 envelope. After adhering the flowers together, I traced around the entire arrangement on heavyweight white cardstock and cut it slightly inside the line. This piece was adhered to the back of the bouquet to hide all of the “messy stuff”. It also served to stiffen up the arrangement. I created a shaker using Seas the Day, Aurora Lights, Bokeh Lights & Candlelight Confetti Mixes. The sentiment, from the Love Bug stamp set, was white heat embossed onto the vellum label. I adhered Moonlight Rhinestones to each corner of the vellum label. This gave me a spot in each corner to adhere the vellum to the acetate. Lastly, the lid & the bouquet were adhered to the top of the jar.

What do you think? I love it when things come together better than I’d hoped!! I also love that it also fits into a standard #10 business envelope.

That’s is for me today!!! I’ll see you next Tuesday!!!
