Tabitha here, with this Saturday’s stamping project. It’s been a crazy week in our household and of course I waited until the last minute to get together something for my husband’s birthday. He’s used to my handmade cards, and something creative but I haven’t had much time or energy this week for either with an unexpected death in the family. While I know he’d understand, I also wanted to do something fun to get us out of the funk and still acknowledge his special day. With the offer of a babysitter, and our daughter being a little older now, that means a much needed night on the town for us! But what town? He will have to wait and see! There’s a little back story to how I came up with this quick and easy project, now that’s get to the results!
I cut an 8.5″x11″ piece of paper in half and planned my message on one side and made the actual message on the other side. I used the Honey Bee Scraps stamp set “No Place Like Home” for this project and it was so much fun! I also used a fine line black marker and a few colors of Close to My Heart Ink, and began creating my message interspersing all the fun words and phrases from the stamp set in color between my black ink handwriting.
I look forward to playing up the mystery location of our dinner and after dinner activity by making a few “tickets” of choices of activities in a similar manner. This set was so easy to use for this type of project because there are so many sentiments that could create a story… try something similar for journaling on your Project Life cards and layouts and it will be a neat way to add interest to your pages. Wish me luck on our mystery birthday dinner date and enjoy using your Honey Bee stamps in a new way this Saturday! Thanks for checking in with me and happy scrapping!
