Hi guys, I have two cards to share with you today that I have dubbed Birthday Blending.
I fell in love with the Hello Gorgeous stamp set by Honey Bee Stamps because it’s big, it’s lush and it’s so versatile. Recently I showed it in a haul video and I was ‘itching’ to make something with it. The floral accents in this set seem to lend themselves to be used for colouring, die cutting and embossing. For these cards I went with embossing as I knew I wanted to ink blend the florals.
Firstly, I heat embossed the image on some white cardstock. Then, I ink blended alternating between two color combos with Ranger’s distress inks. For the blue card, I used Evergreen Bough and Peacock Feathers. For the pink card I used Worn Lipstick and Picked Raspberry. Spraying some water with the distress sprayer helped give some added interest to the background colors.
For the sentiment, I die cut three ‘birthdays’ from the Honey Bee Stamps die set called Celebrate as the size of the sentiment was perfect.
To finish, I added some really pretty floral accents which complimented this stamp set to well and added that extra something, something. Keep an eye out for an up coming video showing how I made these beauties.
Well, it’s been a pleasure chatting with you today, and I will look forward to seeing you again next week here, at the Honey Bee blog.
